Ken Ishii is one of the most prolific electronic music producers from Japan. Internationally recognized not just for his production skills, but also as a DJ. He has just been awarded best techno DJ at this years Ibiza DJ Awards, a great honour indeed from the dance music family!

“Interpretations” does exactly what is says, an album featuring selected tracks from his last album “Future in Light”, reinterpreted. The remixers behind the reinterpretations represent some of the masters of their craft from an international producers wish list:

Valentino Kanzyani (Recylcled Loops co- run with Umek), Christian Smith & John Selway (both very prolific producers who have had releases on Intec, Primate, Primevil, to name but a few), Jimpster (he has also remixed the likes of Lamb, Mixmaster Morris, Wai Wan, Airto Moriera as well as producing for Coldcut and co-writing with Kirk Degiorgio), Moodman, Why Sheep? (signed to Third Ear), Soma Records very own Funk D’Void and Brian Zentz (signed to Carl Cox’s label Intec Records).

Each of them have given Ken’s tracks their own personal twist, but managed to retain the essence of the originals and keep the flavour very Ishii…
