Bluprint

Bluprint have come from the unlikely Barnstaple in Devon to show us just how cool you can be without having to live and record in over-populated madness that's London.

James, Jamie, Christian and Patch have been together in bands for about four or five years now, and the only rule they decided to follow was "record as you mean to play live". This shows why their debut performance at the Jazz Café in London' went down extremely well!

Their tunes are clearly jazz and fusion influenced with new sounds emerging throughout their compositions (probably thanks to all that fresh air)…

Check out their singles, ‘Sky EP Series No 4’, and ‘Mathis and Tetchener/ Smoothie’ released in 2001. Their first album, Foundation was released in 2002. This was followed up with the “Sleeping Giant” LP, showing a progression to their sound that's further developed their flair for cool electronica and eclectic improvisation.

James Millman, Jamie Adam, Christian Wilson and Patrick Wilson met five years ago as students studying Music Technology and Performing Arts and soon after began playing together.

They appeared in various outfits playing Acid Jazz, Funk and Rare Groove sounds. Their individual need to embrace creative technology in the form of sampling and programming while still keeping a strong emphasis on the ‘Live performance’ led quickly to the formation of ‘Bluprint’.

Bluprint formed as a vehicle for these musicians/producers to experiment with samples and sequences with live instrumentation to produce a unique sound incorporating elements of jazz, hard edge latin breaks and chilled rolling beats with sweeping rolling atmospheric soundtracks.

The Bluprint sound pays homage to a wide and diverse base of influences from current musicians producers such as Jazzanova, IG Culture, Outside and Incognito; Jazz masters Herbie Hancock and Billy Cobham to movie score/soundtrack composers Lalo Schifrin and Trevor Horn.
